Easier than HDMI extender 

Since the optical converters are housed inside the heads of the cable, It's means no need for any external repeaters or extra power or patch cables.

The opt-electronic converters inside the cable heads convert incoming electrical signal into optical on one end, and back into electrical on the other end. Cable is a hybrid composed of fiber and copper cables.

The copper cables are used for non-video information such as EDID, HDCP authentication, hot plug detection, grounding, and +5v power. The fiber strands carry all the video and audio content.
